Bonjour mes amis!
Just a quick note to say that I made it back to my old stomping ground of Paris, where I will be based for the next couple of weeks.
The Universe prepared me for this immersion back to the homeland by allocating a monologuing fool next to me in the Eurostar : dude kept on commenting to himself about the spaciousness of the seats, the smell of his reheated panini, his cousin Gerard’s house and other cheesy nonsense. Oh, and every time the wifi dropped (a looooot, the train is rather fast), he ohlala’ed for Napoleon, Joan of Arc and Pepe Le Pew.
*rolls eyes, flexes shoulders, flicks hair, pouts, squirms [it’s hard work being French ]*
Oh la la.
Actually, nope, I meant oh well! (too many years in Britain innit! I actually dream in English now).
I made it and am excited about sharing thoughts and snaps from here.
I have so many things to talk about, I am literally getting my phone out to make notes every 15 minutes (I haven’t reached the outloud monologue stage yet). Talk about inspiration striking when it’s least expected !!! (Actually between Gerard’s garden and a French swear word aimed at bad wifi signal).
It is funny what this time of the year does to us: we want to reminisce but also move on and come up with resolutions, whilst drinking and eating like there’s no tomorrow, to *allegedly* leave it all behind in a few days!
For instance: I have already had a croissant and 3 types of cheeses and I’ve been here less than 6 hours … aaaaaaand I am gluten and lactose intolerant, so broke my own promise to keep my booty diary empty of funny episodes.
Oh well! hurricane Melly is coming, in more ways than one, désolée Paris!!
